BREAKING DOWN HKUST Business School

The HKUST Business School was established in 1991. It became the first business in the entire region to gain accreditation from both the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and the European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS). The school has six departments and 11 research centers. The undergraduate programs have 3,600 students from more than 40 nationalities, while the graduate programs have 1,300 students from more than 40 nationalities.

HKUST Business School Programs

HKUST Business School offers 17 undergrad programs, including 11 business programs and five joint/interdisciplinary programs. The master of business administration (MBA) program is offered as a standard 16-month program or an accelerated 12-month program. There are also two part-time options. HKUST Business School also offers executive MBA programs, PhD programs, and nine master of science programs: global finance, accounting, business analytics, economics, financial analysis, global operations, information systems management, international management, and investment management.

The school has six departments: accounting; economics; finance; information systems, business statistics, and operations management; management; and marketing.

HKUST Business School Rankings

HKUST Business School had an average rank of 14 from 2016-2018 from the Financial Times. The Financial Times ranked it the number one full-time MBA program in Asia in 2010-14 and 2016. The Kellogg-HKUST executive MBA program was ranked number one in the world by the Financial Times in 2007, 2009-2013, and 2016-2017.

HKUST Business School Alumni

The HKUST Business School has numerous alumni. This alumni network includes 25,000 former students representing more than 60 different nationalities. A program called “Alumination” was launched in 2011 to bring together our “alumni” into one “nation.” According to the school, “It is an important extension of our vision as it unites business elites to form a network of influence which has a positive impact on our society and the world.”
