Certified Asset Protection Analyst Definition

The certified asset protection analyst (CAPA) designations are awarded by the American Academy of Financial Management (AAFM) to professionals who have an accredited undergraduate degree and who complete courses in Wealth Management, Tax Treaties, Law, and Planning, Offshore Financial Services, and Advanced International Tax Planning. Applicants with professional experiences of five years or more would only be required to take the CAPA course.

Successful applicants earn the right to use the CAPA designation with their names, which can improve job opportunities, professional reputation, and pay. CAPA professionals must also stay current in their field with a continuing professional education requirement.
