Experience

Andrea is an entrepreneur, financial planner, and life coach with more than 21 years of experience. She has created and managed four small businesses. Andrea began her career life in the banking and corporate finance world where she grew familiar with budgets, financial forecasts, taxes, and planning and investing for retirement. She worked as a junior residential mortgage loan originator with Principal Financial Group, as a personal banker with U.S. Bank, as a financial analyst with United Parcel Service (UPS), and as an assistant fund accounting at IFAA–McArthur Management.

Andrea then left finance, starting her first business, Andrea Travillian Events, in 2002. Five years later, Andrea returned to finance, opening Smart Step, Inc, a financial planning, bookkeeping, and coaching business. Here, she began writing regular blogs articles to educate clients.

Andrea contributes to other websites as well, including Investopedia, The Balance, InvestingAnswers.com, MyFinancialAnswers.com, and CreditCards.com.

She has more than 40 articles appearing on Investopedia. Her topics include financial advising, retirement, and how to invest in stocks, mutual funds, and exchange-traded funds (ETFs). Andrea collaborated and submitted work for the print edition of Personal Finance Encyclopedia. You may see her Investopedia articles in syndication on Yahoo.

After advising clients for more than 10 years through Smart Step, Andrea was ready for a change. In 2017 she opened Aspirify, and began working as an emotional healing and spirituality coach. Now, Andrea coaches clients on ways to find balance in finance, lifestyle, and relationships.
