Martha Shelton has more than 15 years of experience working in equity research, financial modeling, and valuation in Latin American markets. She has served as Associate Vice President in Equity Research at Barclay’s Capital in New York City; as an Equity Research Analyst for Citi; and as Vice President and Equity Research Analyst at Itaú BBA in Mexico City. Martha currently serves as Executive Director and Equity Research Analyst at BBVA Bancomer in Mexico City.

Martha has extensive experience analyzing industry and company trends, developing investment theses, valuing companies using both intrinsic and relative valuation methods, marketing ideas to clients, handling client requests, presenting industry and stock-specific ideas to traders, and developing relationships with clients, company management teams, sales forces, and industry experts. She specializes in investments, equities, capital markets, portfolio management, hedge funds, asset management, and alternative investments.

Martha has written on a range of personal and consumer finance topics for Investopedia, including credit and debt management, mortgage lending, the gender wage gap, using balance sheets, celebrity political endorsements, and illegal interview questions.
