Experience

Luke Fortney is a Mexican-American journalist from Orange County, California. At age eighteen he left behind the weather, waves, 80-degree winters to study English Literature at a small liberal arts college in Northeast Ohio. At Oberlin College, Luke's intentions to become a fiction writer were derailed by an investigation into organized labor at private universities. Needless to say, he caught the journalism bug, and his passion for data-driven journalism has led him from small-town beat reporting in Ohio to NPR and PBS in Cleveland, where he learned to break regional news as a primary elections reporter. Luke is currently a contributing writer for Investopedia.

Education

Luke earned his bachelor's degree in English literature and communications from Oberlin College in Ohio.
