Agreeing to be the executor of an estate is a bigger decision than most people realize. 1. The Complexity of the Estate

Generally speaking, the larger the estate – whether in terms of property, possessions, assets or the number of beneficiaries – the more difficult and time-consuming it will be to disperse. Of course, the real work starts when the testator passes away. It is then that the executor is called on for funeral arrangements, locating and filing the will, clearing probate, managing assets, clearing debts, submitting tax returns, establishing and managing any trusts, responding to legal challenges and more. In reality, being an executor is simply carrying out the details of the will and complying with legal requirements. It is easy as long as you are organized and detail-oriented.
