Tesla Inc.’s (TSLA) outspoken Chief Executive Elon Musk is at it again, turning to Twitter to potentially announce yet another new product, and leaving his followers and the media guessing if he is joking or if he is serious. This time around he tweeted about a mini Tesla that adults can fit into.

Spotted by Electrek, the online publication that covers the automobile industry, in response to a question on Twitter about whether a Model X Radio Flyer toy car would be coming to the market, Musk said: “We’re working on a new Tesla mini-car that can squeeze in an adult.” Musk didn’t elaborate, leaving many guessing what that means. Radio Flyer, which makes wagons and tricycles, already has the Tesla Model S for children but hasn’t launched a Model X version to date.

Musk Has Delivered On His Claims In The Past

This isn’t the first time Musk has tweeted about plans that may appear crazy to outsiders but then came to fruition. He recently posted an idea about opening an “old school drive-in, roller skates & rock restaurant at one of the new Tesla Supercharger locations in Los Angeles.” According to Electrek, Tesla has already acquired a location for the restaurant. Musk also vowed to send a Tesla Roadster into space, a promise he delivered on. In early February, his SpaceX rocket propelled a cherry-red Tesla Roadster sports car into the great unknown. Toy Tesla’s Can Breed Loyalty At An Early Age

According to Electrek, the current Model S Radio Flyer, which is geared toward children between the ages of 3 to 8 costs around $500. The electric vehicle, which comes equipped with a battery pack, is seen as a way to build loyalty at an early age. Since it charges like the electric vehicles already in use, it gets children comfortable with the technology, eliminating a learning curve. It’s not clear what a larger one that could be driven by an adult would look like.

Turning to Twitter to make product announcements, proclamations or take on critics is nothing new for Musk. According to a recent analysis by the Wall Street Journal, Musk has used the platform a lot over the years, tweeting out comments about life, critics, and business ideas some 4,925 times. His tweeting has been picking up over the years with a big jump starting in 2015 and continuing today. The Journal also found Musk doesn’t reserve a special time to tweet, doing it at all hours of the day including during the workday as well as late at night. But Musk isn’t only about having his voice heard. He is also proficient at replying and isn’t discerning in whom he replies to. The paper’s analysis shows 41% of the replies were to Twitter users with 500 or fewer followers.
