Experience

Tom Drinkard is a famed published fiction writer and freelance editor with an engaging history. Based in Hunstville, Alabama, Tom graduated from the University of North Alabama with a degree in English. Upon graduation, he was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the United States Army and went on active duty eight days later. Within two years he completed parachute school and was selected for the U.S. Army Special Forces — the Green Berets. He spent more than 10 years with this fabled unit during the Vietnam War, and 15 years altogether in the armed forces.

After his active duty, Tom found his way into teaching and writing in the securities licensing and exam preparation business. Many of his articles, textbooks, and courses are in use today. Tom left that field in 2010 to fulfill his dream of writing fiction full time. Tom has always been a prolific writer, “I’ve been storytelling since the first grade,” he says. Tom has published practically every novel he has completed, including the popular titles, “Piety and Murder,” “Where There Were No Innocents,” “Overload,” “Devil’s Blade,” “V Trooper–First Mission,” “V Trooper–Second Mission,” and “The Demon.” He is also the author of “Finding the Way Home,” a chapbook (pamphlet) of poetry about the Vietnam War. His poetry is published in a number of literary magazines, including Negative Capability, Cotton Boll/Atlanta Review, and Elk River Review.
