Experience
Joy Toltzis Makon has been an art director and graphic designer for more than two decades. She provides content and design work, consulting and website development services for a number of clients including Hearst Magazines, Scholastic, Rolling Stone, Harvard Business Review and The New York Times. Joy has also worked in the retail sector.
Joy currently consults on print and online graphic design for start-ups, book publishers and not-for-profits. Before this, she taught magazine design and graphic design at both Parsons School of Design and New York University’s School of Professional and Continuing Studies. She writes about personal finance, consumer trends and insights, e-commerce, and web-based businesses.
Education
Joy has a bachelor of fine arts degree in graphic design and photography from the Tyler School of Arts.
