Experience

John Olagues started his career on the Pacific Stock Exchange and later worked at the Chicago Board Options Exchange or CBOE for over ten years.  John created strategies for hedging and risk reduction in stock and options portfolios. John also traded listed options and became a leading expert in the options industry.

As the owner of Truth in Options, John advises recipients of equity compensation and how to manage those equity securities to reduce risk and taxes, and to enhance value. John holds the view that the risks associated with holding equity compensation by employees, especially employee stock options, are vastly misunderstood and underestimated. These risks can be mitigated and thus, achieving a far superior employee/employer relationship.

John has written a number of articles about identifying market risk and options for Investopedia and Seekingalpha.

Education

A graduate of Tulane with a Bachelor of Arts in Math, John made All-American honors as a pitcher and captain of the baseball team.
